S3I is a case of success in the industry innovation area

The 6th Brazilian Congress of Innovation in Industry recognizes the 22 major successes in 2014

A case of success in the book "Innovation is doing: 22 cases of innovation in small, medium and large businesses", promoted by CNI along with Sebrae, Pred Engenharia is among the Brazilian companies that stood out and were successful in the field of innovation. This success is due to the initiative in acting in the predictive dimension, with the use of advanced methods for managing the industrial maintenance (coming from the long experience in the area), with operating systems for planning and process control. Thus was born the Intelligent System of Industrial Intervention (S3I), a software capable of integrating all modules and failure mechanisms of industrial equipment.

"I feel flattered to participate in a publication such as this. It is gratifying to be able to contribute to the competitiveness of national industry, which needs more than ever to optimize their costs in maintaining their equipment, because this issue is 20% to 40% of the total cost of production", says the CEO the Pred, Ozório Rezende.

Pred Engenharia was rewarded in other awards focused in innovation, such as the classification in the 11th edition of the MPE Brazil promoted by Sebrae in which Pred Engenharia competed against about 93 thousand companies across the country. Pred Engenharia was considered a 'A Case of Success at the National Productive Chaining Forum', and also won the Recognition in Business Management amongst the 200 largest companies of Espírito Santo, given by IEL-ES in 2014.

The Book

The cases described in the book have particular characteristics, but all are trajectories of companies that illustrate risk management situations, management innovation, partnerships, external support, intellectual property policy, search for visibility, recognition and, above all, results. Innovative products and processes developed and implemented for some time, had excellent performance and show that innovation is the alternative for the business to survive, differentiate and win markets.

The projects were selected based on the following criteria: focus on industry; size (micro, small, medium and large); possessing cases of innovation in the areas of access to biodiversity, value chains; innovation management; internationalization; business model; intellectual property and sustainability. In addition were considered: the possibility of the project being replicated in other realities; the strategic interest (economic, environmental and social); alignment with the business strategy; and measurable results.

Of the 22 selected companies, they are five large, five medium, 10 small and two micro. Geographically, they are divided like this: São Paulo (7), Rio Grande do Sul (4), Minas Gerais (2), Santa Catarina (2), Rio de Janeiro (2), Ceará (1), Paraná (1), Distrito Federal (1), Espírito Santo (1) and Sergipe (1). They are: Biotron, Croda Brasil, Emiatec, Fit Networks, Fotosensores, Fras-le, Fumajet, Futuragene, Gerdau, Novus, Pred Engenharia, Protect Confecções, Recepta, ROMI, Scoda Aeronáutica, Sigmarhoh, TNS, Toth Tecnologia, TOTVS, Vale, VRP and Wise.
